We do offer this service, including full database assurance and licensing utilizing the Oracle database platform and SQL Server 2000 database platform in either the Standard or Enterprise Editions.

This is an optional service available to Customer Managed, Co-Managed, or Managed Hosting customers. Keeping your product, customer and order data safe and available requires an in-depth knowledge of database structure, tools and processes. TELUS provides a robust database managed service offering that includes enhanced monitoring, reporting and administration. These services can help you meet your mission-critical database needs while freeing up resources to be more productive in other areas.

These database solutions are comprised of two separate components:

  1. Database Licensing
  2. Database Assurance
A customer can purchase these two components together or separately.

Administration

Administration: Includes procurement of licenses, automated builds, installation and configuration, problem diagnosis, database restarts/reboots and more.
  • Monitoring: Examines CPU, memory and disk space, and database connectivity/availability.
  • Reporting: Presents database performance statistics.
  • Backup and Recovery: Consists of daily, incremental, and weekly full backups, offsite storage, and database recovery due to system errors.
  • Security: Keeps database updated with latest patch installation.
