As we become increasingly reliant in our systems and the data within them ensuring secure reliable access is key. TELUS Intelligent Web Switching (Load Balancing) Improving the performance and availability of your site ensures your customers and stakeholders have a positive experience when accessing your site. Local load balancing distributes the processing work across multiple Web servers and improves overall delivery service to your customers. Global Server Intelligent Web Switching Service enables the load balancing of servers and content between TELUS intelligent Internet Data Centers located in Calgary and Toronto. TELUS Intelligent Web Switching Service increases reliability, performance, scalability, and security of a customer's Web Site. It maximizes uptime and reduces response time on busy or overloaded Web sites by dynamically directing specific content requests to the best site and server "at that moment", based on the server availability, load, and the specific content that resides at that location. If one server fails, the load-balancing algorithms detect the failed server and distribute the traffic load over the remaining servers in that group. VPN The Internet Data Centre Virtual Private Network service (IDC VPN) enables a customer to administer their Managed Servers located in a TELUS Intelligent Internet Data Centre in a secure manner. There are two types of VPN: Client to Site IDC VPN - Client to Site enables a customer's employee(s) to connect via a client (employee's computer) to site (TELUS IDC) VPN to their Managed Servers. Please note that this service only works in a client-to-site manner to the IDC. It will not function as a site-to-site VPN in any manner. The customer is given a login and password, as well as a Secure ID token in order to access the TELUS IDC. The customer must also install Cisco Client Software from http://hosting.telus.com. Site to Site IDC VPN - Site to Site enables a customer's employee(s) to connect via a customer's LAN (site) to the TELUS IDC (site) VPN to their Managed Servers. It allows a customer to terminate a customer supplied, TELUS approved VPN device on our VPN Concentrators in the TELUS IDC. The following devices will work at the customer's premise:
Intelligent Net Sentry (Intrusion Detection) TELUS intelligent NetSentryTM streams Internet traffic without interrupting the flows. The service is dedicated to monitoring and protecting your servers from malicious activities, 24x7x365, based on your pre-configured security rule set and industry leading intrusion detection software. Its network sensors can detect attacks that might appear non-threatening when examined in isolation. Suspicious events are logged and, if required, information can be trended over a period of time to identify suspicious traffic patterns. When an attack that is directed to your servers is detected, the Internet session is turned off automatically. An alert is raised, and based on the severity of the intrusion, appropriate action is taken to prevent further access. |
